On April 1st at about 5:40 pm, Vernon RCMP were called to the 6000 block of Pleasant Valley Rd for a report of found human remains. A man was operating an excavator on the property for the owner when he discovered human remains where he had been digging.

The area is currently being protected and under investigation by Vernon General Investigation Section with the assistance of the Coroner. They are assessing to determine if more remains are present.

An Anthropologist has also been contacted to assist in this investigation to determine how long the remains have been there. This portion of the investigation will likely begin towards the end of this week but it is anticipated that it will be some time yet for conclusive results.
