Michael Anderson charged with murder of Michael Roach in Edmonton

EPS Homicide detectives have laid three charges relating to an altercation outside the George Spady Centre Sunday night. Michael Anderson, 50, has been charged with 2nd degree murder, possession of a weapon, and possession of a narcotic.

Downtown officers responded to the call in the area of 100 Street and 105A Avenue at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, and assisted Michael Roach , 49, who was suffering from life-threatening injuries.

Roach died in hospital several hours later.

The autopsy of the deceased was completed today, Tuesday, April 5, 2011. The Medical Examiner determined Roach died as a result of a stab wound.

Both men are from Edmonton. Anderson will appear in court later this week.
