The Calgary Police Service has charged a man with several offences following an incident that occurred in February 2010.

At approximately 3 a.m., on Monday, February 8, 2010, two police officers on routine patrol attempted to pull over a vehicle that was being driven erratically in the McKenzie Lake area.

The vehicle stopped on a dead-end street and when one officer approached on foot, the driver drove at the officer striking him with the vehicle.

Both officers discharged their firearms as the vehicle sped towards them.

The suspect fled the scene, but was later located and treated for gunshot wounds.

An investigation by the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team recently found the actions of the officers to be justified.

The driver of the vehicle has now been charged in relation to the incident.

Shaun Andrew MCVEE, 22, of Calgary, has been charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm, impaired driving causing bodily harm, hit and run causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.
