Poor Stephen Harper can’t get no respect. His attempt to play off the popularity of Maria Aragon has backfired.
Yoko Ono, a peace loving woman and keeper of John Lennon’s flame, had the Harper video of Imagine yanked off YouTube.
Nothing could be more false than Stephen Harper singing the famous Lennon hope for peace in the world.

Nothing to kill or die for

And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
I wasn’t a big Yoko fan before but I’ll give her two thumbs up for recognizing a phony politician trying to worm into a great song.
She’s not mean. She’s not a copyright fanatic. She let Bill Clinton, Neil Young, Lady Gaga and your humble writer sing Imagine without complaint.
She does stand her ground and refuse to let Stephen Harper sing Imagine.
“Harper would like to put all the gay, lesbian, activist female, abortionist, and left thinking Canadians back in a box. Then Harper and his right wing cronies can buy more fighter jets. They will have cleaned up Canada with missionary zeal.

Imagine no possessions

I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
Sharing, brotherhood, greed and hunger – wow that will be great.  Harper Singing Imagine Is the Hypocritical Photo of the Election

Imagine
is the torch song for love, brotherhood and the dream of a paradise on earth.
Canada’s Prime Minister is all Jets and Jails with no love for people and peace.

  1. What!?! This is hilarious. What a slap in the face. [laughing] This is humiliating for Mr. Harper. Any politician wants to be loved by the people, but this? Just imagine!

  2. Harper is a Beatles Fan. Hello. Stop trying to make something out of nothing! I play Beatles’s songs on the piano all the time. Yoko Ono should only be concerned if Harper is making money from this, which he isn’t.
What would be appreciated is for the millions of dollars that originate in Seattle, California via the Packard, Turner, Soros, Rockefeller Foundation, from influencing Canadians resource policy. Harper has made enemies since he started looking to other countries to trade oil with (i.e. Canadian dependency on U.S. trade has diminished from 75% to 65.2%. Follow the money, Pollyanna back to the American oligarchies who have something to lose if the U.S. (historically) isn’t Canada’s only customer. Interested parties have a lot to gain by dissing Harper. As much as I respect the U.S. and want to continue our trade relationship, it is foolish to hitch your wagon to a falling star.

Well, M. Harper certainly tried to make political capital out of this. I am pretty glad it backfired. Harper for peace? Give me a break.

  4. Ahah bien fait pour lui, il ne mérite aucunement de chanter une telle chanson ! Non, mais quel visage à deux faces ce Harper.

  5. I’m no fan of Harper’s—for a whole laundry list of reasons, starting with his contempt of Parliament and thus the Canadian electorate—but has Ono actually released a statement to this effect? Is the paragraph starting “Harper would like to put” a quote from her (as suggested by the (unclosed) quotation mark) or is it your speculation?

  6. Oh, Harper is making money from it alright, because he is using it as his means to get elected yet again. He hates pot and would jail Lennon if he was alive now, so why does he think he can rcomment_IDe on John’s coattails of peace, love and cannabis?

  7. you may say i’m a f….er
but i m not the only one
I hope some day you join us
and the world will die for one dollar

  8. I’d suggest this story needs verification. I dcomment_ID a quick search and I found several copies of the vcomment_IDeo.

There is a larger and more troubling issue at play here. Ms. Ono may not like Harper but to ask Youtube pull “the” vcomment_IDeo smacks of elitism and censorship. Ironic given her late husband’s views on such matters.
