During the evening of Thursday, April 14th, 2011 at approximately 9:00 p.m. the Cheticamp Volunteer Fire Department and members of the Cheticamp Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) responded to a structure fire at Larade’s Tire Shop in Cheticamp.
The remains of a male were found inside the building. The body of the deceased has been sent to Halifax where an autopsy will be conducted by the Provincial Medical Examiners Office this afternoon. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
