Codiac RCMP are investigating a fatal collision between a motor vehicle and pedestrian that occurred on April 21, 2011 at approximately 8:00 p.m., at the entrance ramp onto Highway 2 westbound from Elmwood Drive.

A 52-year-old man was struck by an oncoming vehicle while walking. He was taken to hospital by ambulance, where he later died as a result of his injuries.

The victim has been identified as Reginald William Davis, of Roachville, N.B.

A 24-year-old woman from Moncton was arrested at the scene and later released on a promise to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on June 24, 2011 at 9:30 a.m.

It’s believed alcohol was a factor in the crash and police anticipate laying related charges.

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
