Toronto police bust a high-end motorcycles theft ring

On Tuesday April 26, 2011, officers from 23 Division started an investigation into the thefts of numerous high-end sport motorcycles and vehicles in the GTA.

Police executed a search warrant at 72 Clarion Road.

It is alleged that:

– police recovered 16 stolen high-end motorcycles, and five vehicles that had fake Vehicle Identification Numbers,

– police also located a quantity of cocaine, ecstasy, marijuana and cash.

– police seized property worth $500,000.

Christopher Sirizzotti, 27, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) 15 counts of Theft over,
2) 23 counts of Possession Property obtained by Crime Over,
3) two counts of Theft under,
4) Possession of Proceeds of Crime,
5) eight counts of Possession Property Obtained by Crime (Re-VIN Auto),
6) eight counts of Destroy, Alter or Remove VIN,
7) Possession of Cocaine,
8) Possession for the Purpose Cocaine,
9) Possession of Marijuana,
10) Possession for the Purpose Marijuana,
11) Possession of Ecstacy,
12) Possession for the Purpose controlled substance,
13) Possession of Controlled Substance,

Fabio Capetola, 31, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) 15 counts of Theft over,
2) 23 counts of Possession Property obtained by Crime Over,
3) two counts of Theft under,
4) three counts of Possession of property obtained by crime under,
5) eight counts of Possession Property Obtained by Crime (Re-VIN Auto),
6) eight counts of Destroy, Alter or Remove VIN.

Mario Bottoni, 31, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Theft over,
2) Possession Property obtained by Crime.

Adam Sirizzotti, 25, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) 15 counts of Theft over,
2) 23 counts of Possession Property obtained by Crime Over,
3) two counts of Theft under,
4) three counts of Possession of property obtained by crime under,
5) eight counts of Possession Property Obtained by Crime (Re-VIN Auto),
6) eight counts of Destroy, Alter or Remove VIN,

David Penas, 21, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) 15 counts of Theft over,
2) 23 counts of Possession Property obtained by Crime Over,
3) two counts Theft under,
4) three counts of Possession of property obtained by crime under,
5) eight counts of Possession Property Obtained by Crime (Re-VIN Auto),
6) eight counts of Destroy, Alter or Remove VIN.

Anthony Durant, 29, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) 15 counts of Theft Over,
2) 23 counts of Possession of property obtained by crime over,
3) two counts of Theft Under,
4) three counts of Possession of property obtained by crime under,
5) eight counts of Possession Property Obtained by Crime (Re-VIN Auto),
6) eight counts of Destroy, Alter or Remove VIN.

They were scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Friday, April 29, 2011, room 206, at 10 a.m.

This investigation was not restricted to Toronto and involves other GTA police services that will be considering additional charges. There are approximately 200 similar occurrences in Toronto in the last year. This investigation will continue.
