On March, 22, 2011, the Homicide Squad was contacted as a result of the death of George Wass.

The Homicide Squad, in cooperation with members of 11 Division, assumed the lead role in the homicide of George Wass and the investigation into six similar assaults between January 4, 2011 and March 18, 2011.

On Monday, May 2, 2011, Ricardo Morrison, 32, of Toronto, was charged with two counts of Assault Bodily Harm, in relation to assaults alleged to have occurred on Saturday, April 2, 2011, on Westlodge Avenue, and on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, in the Maynard Avenue/Leopold Street area.

The investigation is ongoing and Ricardo Morrison remains a Person of Interest in relation to the other similar assaults and the death of George Wass.
