Fifth man Lenford Roy Crawford arrested in Markham home invasion and murder

York Regional Police homicide investigators have charged a fifth suspect with First Degree Murder, Attempted Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Murder in connection with the November 8, 2010, home invasion and homicide in the Town of Markham.

On Wednesday, May 4, 2011, homicide investigators arrested Lenford Roy CRAWFORD, 28, of Brampton, at his residence without incident. Mr. CRAWFORD will be held in custody and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on Thursday, May 5, 2011.

The first arrest in connection with this incident took place on Monday, November 22, 2010, when investigators charged Jennifer PAN, 24, of Markham, with Murder, Attempted Murder andConspiracy to Commit Murder in the death of her mother and Attempted Murder on her father. Ms. PAN is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on Monday, May 9, 2011.

Subsequent arrests include David MYLVAGANAM, 22, of Toronto, Eric CARTY, 30, of no fixed address and Daniel Chi-Kwong WONG, 25, of Ajax.

The investigation continues and further arrests are anticipated.

On Monday, November 8, 2010, at approximately 10:30 p.m., York Regional Police responded to a residence on Helen Avenue after receiving a 9-1-1 call reporting a home invasion. Upon arrival, police discovered Bieh Ha PAN, 53, of Markham, who had succumbed to her injuries inside the residence. Hann PAN, 57, was also discovered in the residence with serious injuries. Surviving the attack, he continues to recover in an undisclosed location.
