Shortly after 1:30 am this morning, the Hope Fire Department and the Hope RCMP responded to a report of a residential structure fire at 19988 Beacon Road.
The fire was extinguished and a search of the residence confirmed that an 18 month old toddler had perished. UFVRD Serious Crime is assuming conduct of this investigation. The cause of the death of the toddler and the cause of the fire are yet to be determined.
