Members of the DRPS Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) executed two search warrants in Oshawa last night, arresting two persons and seizing over $25,000 in drugs, cash and a motor vehicle.

On Wednesday May 4, 2011 during the evening hours, officers from the DEU executed two search warrants in Oshawa and arrested two persons and seized over $25,000 in drugs, which included 241 g of cocaine; 5 g of crack cocaine and 49 g of marihuana. Investigators seized a large quantity of cash and a Cadillac motor vehicle. The search warrants were executed at two separate apartment locations in Oshawa, the first located on Nonquon Road and the second located on Simcoe Street South.

Michael MEERS, age 28 of Simcoe Street South in Oshawa is charged with: Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x3; Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Lorry MEERS, age 50 of Nonquon Road in Oshawa is charged with: Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime Exceeding $5,000. The accused was released on an Undertaking with conditions.
