IHIT investigators have made an arrest and obtained charge approval in connection to the 2008 murder of Lisa Dudley and Guthrie McKay.

On September 22 2008, IHIT took conduct of this investigation after Mission RCMP received a report of a suspicious circumstance at a residence in the 31000 block of Greenwood Drive in rural Mission.

Once police arrived at the address, they were met with an apparent homicide scene. Inside the home was a male and female both suffering from gunshot-related injuries. The male, now known to be Guthrie McKay of Mission, was immediately determined to be deceased at the scene. The female, now known to be Lisa Dudley of Mission, was in severe medical distress and immediately transported to hospital by BC Air Ambulance. Lisa Dudley passed away while en route to hospital.

After a lengthy 31-month investigation, IHIT investigators have now, as a result of the perseverance and personal/professional commitment of investigators, helped bring some closure to the family with the arrest of a 52-year-old Lower Mainland man.

Investigators believe that both Dudley and McKay were targeted.

Jack Douglas WOODRUFF, 52, of Surrey, was arrested yesterday afternoon for two counts of first degree murder. WOODRUFF will make his first appearance in court today in Abbottsford.

WOODRUFF remains in custody.
