On Saturday, May 14, 2011, the District 9 RCMP (Saint-Quentin detachment) arrested a 39-year-old man from Saint-Quentin in connection with the disappearance of 48-year-old Victor Truchon. Mr. Truchon was last seen on May 13, 2011, in the Saint-Quentin area.

The suspect, currently in police custody, will appear in Campbellton Provincial Court on Monday May 16, 2011 to face a charge of second degree murder.

In the afternoon of Sunday, May 15, 2011, members of the Saint-Quentin RCMP discovered the body of a man in a wooded area near Route 17, north of Saint-Léonard. Police had been searching the area after a 48-year-old man from Saint-Quentin was reported missing on May 13, 2011.

An autopsy will be conducted on May 16, 2011 to determine the identity of the deceased and the cause of death.

The investigation continues.
