The Saint-Quentin Detachment of the District 9 RCMP has confirmed that a body found in a wooded area near Route 17, north of Saint-Léonard, N.B., on Sunday, May 15, is that of 48-year-old Victor Truchon.
Mr. Truchon was last seen on May 13, 2011 in the Saint-Quentin area. On May 14, a man was arrested in connection with his disappearance.
Earlier today, 39-year-old Ghyslain Paquet, of Saint-Quentin, appeared in Campbellton Provincial Court to face one count of second degree murder. Mr. Paquet is scheduled to appear in Edmundston Provincial Court on June 8, 2011 to enter a plea.
