On Sunday, May 29, 2011, the Aga Khan Foundation Canada will hold their annual World Partnership Walk. Registration and announcements will take place at Metro Hall, prior to the event. Some participants, including the VIPs and dignitaries, will then proceed to King Street West. The walk will start at 11 a.m. The corporate teams and groups will form up on Wellington Street West, west of Simcoe Street, and will join in the walk as it arrives. The event organizers anticipate approximately 5,000-8,000 participants.

Road closures:

Associated Route – Traffic Control (10:30 a.m-1:30 p.m.)
– Wellington Street West, John Street to York Street, 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.,
– N/B University Avenue, Front Street to College Street , 11 a.m.- 12:30 p.m.,
– S/B University Avenue, Front Street to College Street, 11 a.m.- 1:30 p.m.,

– Walkathon Route: 11 a.m.
– Formation area: Metro Hall,
– Eastbound: King Street West (eastbound curb-lane ONLY) and,
– Eastbound: Wellington Street West,
– Southbound: Simcoe Street (two westbound lanes ONLY),
– Eastbound: Wellington Street West (full roadway),
– Northbound: University Avenue (northbound lanes),
– Northbound: Queen’s Park (northbound lanes),
– Turn Around: Queen’s Park at south end of Queen’s Park Crescent,
– Southbound: Queen’s Park (southbound lanes),
– Southbound: University Avenue (southbound lanes),
– Westbound: Wellington Street West (full roadway),
– Dispersal Area: Metro Hall

The TTC is not expected to incur significant service disruptions during this event.

The event will proceed regardless of weather conditions.
