Mystery deepens over disappearance of Markham woman Fang Lin

Investigators with the York Regional Police Homicide Unit have taken over the investigation in to the disappearance of a 40-year-old female missing from the Town of Markham.

Fang LIN was last seen on Thursday, April 21, 2011, at approximately 4:30 p.m., in the area of Bayview Avenue and 16th Avenue, in the Town of Richmond Hill. On Saturday, April 23, 2011, at approximately 8:10 a.m., police located Ms. LIN’s purple Porsche Cayenne in the parking lot of a commercial plaza at 420 Highway #7 East, in the Town of Richmond Hill.

Police and family are concerned for Ms. LIN’s well-being as she has not had any contact with any friends or family in Canada or in her native China since she was reported missing. There has been no activity on her bank accounts and no record of her leaving the country. It is believed that Ms. LIN did not disappear on her own accord.

The missing person is well known to the VIP sections of casinos in both Ontario and Quebec.

Although Ms.LIN was unemployed, she had access to large sums of money and was known to lend money to other business associates.

Ms. LIN is described as:

 Female, Chinese, light complexion
 5′ 3", 119 lbs., thin build
 40 years old
 Shoulder-length brown hair, brown eyes
 Last seen wearing a black T-shirt, a black sweater and a black skirt
