Holding on to his week’s focus—employment, Liberal leader Dalton McGuinty went to a wind tower plant, which according to him would be jeopardized if Progressive Conservative chief Tim Hudak excels in the upcoming election.

McGuinty said: “Ontario is on track for a stronger future. The opposition would take us off track by ripping up the Green Energy Act and killing clean-energy jobs — including right here in Windsor. That’s why I’m determined to win this election, so we can continue to create jobs and build a strong future for Ontario.”

Windsor’s CS Wind plant is Samsung’s associate, which is the Korean multinational company that intends to spend $7 billion in Ontario to put up 2,500 megawatts of wind and solar power. It has agreed to sell power to Ontario for 20 years at subsidized rates, with a value of $1 billion a year.

The CS Wind was initially launched in Vietnam and started building towers for wind power projects all over the world. Last year, it acquired an old auto parts plant in Windsor and has a staff of over 50 people. The strategy is to increase to 300.
