Man killed in head on collision, Nashwaak Bridge, N.B

On Monday, November 7, 2011, shortly after 10 a.m., members of the District 2 RCMP responded two a head-on collision on Route 107, near Nashwaak Bridge, N.B.

A pick-up truck and a dump truck were involved in the crash. A 63-year-old man from Nashwaak Bridge, who was the driver and lone occupant of the pick-up truck, died at the scene. The driver of the dump truck was not injured.

Route 107 is closed in both directions. Traffic is being re-routed to the Crossing Creek Road.

Paramedics, the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement unit, a coroner and an RCMP collision reconstruction team also attended the scene.

The man’s name has not been released, pending notification of his family.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
