Moncton Man arrested for a stabbing incident

During the evening of November 8, 2011, members of the District 5 RCMP responded to a stabbing incident at a residence in Harcourt, N.B. A 25-year-old man sustained a non-life threatening injury to his arm.

At approximately 9:30 p.m. the same evening, a 28-year-old man was arrested in Moncton in connection with the incident, with the assistance of the Codiac Regional RCMP.

Deveren David Christie, of Harcourt, has been charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and assault. He was remanded into custody and made a brief court appearance this morning. He remains in custody and is schedule to appear in Moncton Provincial Court next on November 10, at 9:30 a.m.

Police believe this was an isolated incident and say the two men were known to each other. The investigation is continuing.
