Five Toronto men charged with 31 counts following an home invasion incident

On Tuesday, December 13, 2011, police responded to a radio call for a robbery/home invasion at a home on Nairn Avenue.

It is alleged that:

– a woman knocked on the door

– when one of the homeowners answered the door, three men forced their way into the home

– a violent struggle ensued between the homeowners and the three men

– one of the homeowners was able to break free and obtain a handgun and shot at one of the suspects

– one of three suspects was struck by a bullet

– the three suspects fled the scene

– the suspect who was shot was dropped off at the hospital by the other suspects

– police seized a kilogram of powder cocaine, three kilograms of marijuana, one kilogram of psilocybin, 54 grams of heroin and 10 grams of ecstasy, valued at $100,000

– police also seized $20,000, a handgun and shotgun from the home

Momokai Massaquoi, 24; Cody Rocha, 24; and Fernando Barros, 25, all of Toronto, have each been charged with:

1) Robbery while armed with a firearm
2) Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited
3) Possession of Marijuana (Over)

Valter Cunha, 26, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1. Attempt Murder
2. Careless storage of a firearm
3. Careless storage of ammunition
4. Possession of a prohibited weapon
5. Possession of property obtained by crime
6. Possession FTP Ecstasy
7. Possession FTP Heroin
8. Possession FTP Psilocybin
9. Possession FTP Cocaine
10. Possession FTP Marijuana
11. Possession of Proceeds of Crime

Peter Silva, 33, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1. Careless storage of a firearm
2. Careless storage of ammunition
3. Possession of a prohibited weapon
4. Possession of Proceeds of Crime
5. Possession of property obtained by crime
6. Possession FTP Ecstasy
7. Possession FTP Heroin
8. Possession FTP Psilocybin
9. Possession FTP Cocaine
10. Possession FTP Marijuana
11. Possession of Proceeds of Crime

The were scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Thursday, December 15, 2011, room 103, at 10 a.m.
