On January 2, 2012 at approximately 9:45 p.m.,District 11 RCMP officers were called to investigate a fatal single vehicle crash that occurred in Allison, N.B.

The crash occurred when a vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 106 left the road, traveled down an embankment and landed in a wooded area.

The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, a 17-year-old boy from Lower Coverdale, was seriously injured.  The Moncton Fire Department and paramedics were also on the scene and had to use the Jaws of Life to free him from his vehicle.  He was rushed to the Moncton City Hospital where he died earlier this morning.

The roads were slippery at the time and this is believed to be one of the contributing factors to the crash.  The investigation is ongoing.
