Investigators from Peel Regional Police’s Special Victims Unit have arrested and charged a 41 year old male with sexual assault related offences, which occurred between 2005 and 2011, in the Region of Peel.

On June 15, 2011 the accused, Mark Burke was arrested in Winnipeg on a Canada Wide warrant. Burke, 41 of Brampton, had been charged with eighteen criminal code offences involving three victims; including aggravated assault, forcible confinement and sexual assault. Mr. Burke was returned to Ontario where he appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on June 17, 2011.

Further investigation revealed three additional victims, resulting in eight additional charges being laid against the accused involving similar sexual offenses. He remains in custody.

Due to the violent nature of these offences and the continuous pattern of behavior, investigators are concerned there may be other victims and are asking the public to report any similar contact they may have had with Burke.
