Canada post employee caught stealing gift cards

On Tuesday, January 31, 2012, with the assistance of Canada Post, police arrested a woman in a theft-from-mail investigation.

It is alleged that:

– the accused was an employee of the Canada Post Corporation

– on Monday, January 30, 2012, the accused was under surveillance by Canada Post security

– the accused was seen stealing mail that contained gift cards

Geraldine Hollick, 64, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Criminal Breach of Trust
2) Theft from mail
3) Possession Property obtained by Crime
4) Open mail unlawfully
5) Open mail unlawfully

Police and Canada Post are encouraging the public not to mail cash.
