Canada will be hosting another visit of Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, in May. The royalties plan to visit four communities in three provinces; New Brunswick, Toronto and Saskatchewan, during their short trip.

Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, James Moore made the itinerary public on Monday: the first stop would be CFB Gagetown, in Oromocto N.B., followed by Saint John, then Toronto and finally Regina.

Moore said: “We are delighted that Their Royal Highnesses will join Canadians in celebrating the 60th anniversary of her Majesty’s reign as Queen of Canada. Occasions such as this are rare. The only other time Canada celebrated the Diamond Jubilee of a reigning King or Queen was for Queen Victoria in 1897.”

The royalties will end the tour in Regina, where they will celebrate the anniversary of the Legislative Building and attend a concert of the Regina Symphony Orchestra.

“Occasions such as this are rare,” Moore said in a statement. “The only other time Canada celebrated the diamond jubilee of a reigning king or queen was for Queen Victoria in 1897. We welcome the royal couple and look forward to showing them some of the best of what Canada has to offer.”
