Toronto man Paul Fitzgerald Benn shot and killed

On Friday, May 4, 2012, at 7:02 p.m. police responded to a call for the sound of gunshots in the vicinity of Cather Crescent, in the Allen Road/Lawrence Avenue West area.

It is reported that:

– police located a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the body

– the victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died

The victim has been identified as Paul Fitzgerald Benn, 38, of Toronto.

A post-mortem examination determined the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds.

Police believe there was a group of people in the vicinity of the victim just prior to the shooting.
