Clementsvale elderly couple dies in a fatal vehicle collision

At approximately 8:50 p.m. on the evening of May 8th RCMP Meteghan Detachment responded to a two-vehicle, head-on collision on Highway 101 near the community of Grosses Coques in Digby County.

A 75-year-old female driver and the 71-year-old male passenger, both from Clementsvale, died at the scene. The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of the next of kin. 

The driver, and sole occupant of the other vehicle, was transported to Yarmouth Regional Hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries.

The investigation to determine the cause of the collision is ongoing.
