At around 4:45 a.m. on May 11, 2012, RCMP District 4 South East received a report from the Westmorland Institution in Dorchester that  two inmates escaped from their living quarters through a window.  Guards noticed the inmates were missing during the head count.

Missing is 27-year-old Bradley Barton of Pugwash, N.S.  He is described as being 185 centimetres (6 feet) tall, weighing 120 kilograms (265 pounds) with a fair complexion, green eyes, and shaved brown hair. Barton is serving a 3-year sentence involving property related offences, an incident involving Canada Border Services, failing to comply with various court orders, and driving while disqualified.

Also missing is 22-year old Justin Lavigine of Truro N.S. He is described as being 178 centimetres (5' 8"),  weighing 81 kg (179 pounds),  with a fair complexion, hazel eyes, and short brown hair. Lavigine is serving a 2-year sentence for property crimes and breach of conditions.

Both men are suspected of stealing a white 2006 GMC pickup truck with New Brunswick license plate number CNV 433. The truck has a fuel tank in the box of the truck.

It's unknown which direction the men would have gone but there is a good possibility they are heading to Nova Scotia.
