Six people charged in Toronto armoured truck robbery

On Thursday, May 10, 2012, in the early-morning hours, members of the Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad, supported by several Divisional units, executed 12 Criminal Code search warrants within the GTA. Six arrests were made in relation to the armoured truck robbery. See previous release. An additional seven people were charged, who were not directly involved, and charged with unrelated offences.

It is alleged that:

– during the search warrants, one of the guards' Glock 17 handgun stolen during the robbery was recovered

– over 800 grams of cocaine, 200 grams of ketamine, and 240 grams of crystal meth were seized

The following six accused are charged directly in connection with the robbery:

Janarthanan Nadanasabapathy, Kulathiban Nanthakumar, Kumaresan Nagenthiram, Tarrik Daghar, Daniel Wise and Michael Thomas. Their charges are as follows:

Tarrik Daghar, 28; Daniel Wise, 21; Janarthanan Nadanasabapathy, 27, all of Toronto, are each charged with:

1. Robbery While Armed with a Firearm
2. Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence
3. Disguise with Intent
4. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (over)
5. two counts of Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
6. two counts of Possession of a Restricted Weapon Obtained by the Commission of an Offence
7. two counts of Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
8. two counts of Firearm Careless Storage
9. two counts of Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device

Daniel Wise is additionally charged with three counts of Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence.

Kumaresan Nagenthiram, 29, of Ajax, and Kulathiban Nanthakumar, 26, of Markham, are each charged with:

1. Robbery While Armed with a Firearm
2. two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence

Nadanasabapathy and Nanthakumar are each additionally charged with Attempt Obstruct Justice.

Michael Thomas, 29, of Markham, is charged with Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence.

The following accused face the following charges not directly related to the robbery:

Tarrik Daghar, 28, of Toronto, is charged with:

1. two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence
2. Possession for the Purpose of Marijuana (under)
3. Possession of Proceeds of Crime

Buddy Daghar, 30, of Toronto, is charged with:

1. Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence
2. two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Marijuana (under)
3. two counts of Possess of Proceeds of Crime

Julion Seaton, 32, of Toronto, is charged with:

1. Possession of Cocaine
2. Possession of Proceeds of Crime
3. Possession for the Purpose Cocaine
4. two counts Possession for the Purpose Controlled Substance
5. Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence

Noah Wiehler, 26, of Toronto, is charged with:

1. Possession for the Purpose Cocaine
2. two counts Possession for the Purpose Controlled Substance
3. Possession of Proceeds of Crime

Carlton Registe, 31, of Toronto, is charged with:

1. Possession for the Purpose Cocaine
2. two counts of Possession for the Purpose Controlled Substance
3. Possession of Proceeds of Crime

Mohammed Abdihkim, 28, of Toronto, is charged with:

1. Possession of Cocaine
2. Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence

The investigation is ongoing. Investigators are continuing to seek assistance identifying a man who rented the U–Haul van, as well as locating Leigh Ming, 27, of Whitby, who is wanted for robbery. He is considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach, call 9-1-1.
