Fugitive man Kai-Guo Huang wanted in a murder investigation gets arrested

On Friday, August 10, 2012, members of the Toronto Police Service Fugitive Squad, assisted by the Philadelphia Police Department, US Marshals Service, FBI and CBSA located and arrested a wanted man.

Kai-Guo Huang, 35, a.k.a. Yu Chen, 30, is wanted for Murder, Conspiracy, Possession of an Instrument of Crime and Abuse of a Corpse, stemming from a 1998 murder and dismemberment of a male victim in Philadelphia.

The accused was arrested on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at 1 a.m., near Sandhurst Circle, by officers in 42 Division for Over 80mg Operation.

It is alleged that:

– the accused identified himself as Yu Chen

– the accused was released from custody pending a future court date

It is further alleged that:

– police later learned the true identity of Yu Chen to be Kai-Guo Huang, who was wanted in Philadelphia

The TPS Fugitive Squad was contacted and the accused was located and arrested.

Kai-Guo Huang is being held in custody awaiting extradition proceedings.
