11-year-old girl hit by TTC bus while crossing Bathurst Street

On Sunday, April 18, 2010, at 10:59 a.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision, involving an 11-year-old girl, on Bathurst Street at Danby Avenue.

It is reported that:

− an 11-year-old girl was crossing Bathurst Street, from the west side to the east side, at Danby Avenue,

– the girl had crossed the street half-way, stopping within a pedestrian safety barrier in the centre of the roadway,

– she continued to cross the northbound lanes of Bathurst Street, and was struck by a northbound TTC bus travelling in the passing lane.

The 11-year-old girl was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
