A 22-year-old Moncton man appeared in Moncton Provincial Court this morning to face a charge of conspiracy to commit arson in connection with a fire in 2008.

Kevin Randy Joseph Morais is the fourth person to be in charged in relation to a fire which occurred on March 10, 2008 in a home on Lester Street in Moncton where a 42-year-old man suffered serious burns.

Morais will return to Moncton Provincial Court on May 12, 2010 at 9:30 am for a bail hearing.

Another man is also facing charges in connection with this fire. James Frederick Newhook appeared in court earlier this month to face charges of arson and using explosives in relation to that fire. He is scheduled to return to court on April 27, 2010 at 9:30 am for election and plea.

Two other men have already been sentenced in connection with the arson.
