On April 13, 2010, Lenwood Joe of Esgenoôptitj First Nation N.B. appeared in Provincial Court in Miramichi and was sentenced to 18 months in jail for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, an 18-month concurrent sentence for trafficking cocaine and is prohibited from owning firearms for 10 years,

This sentence is in connection with a search warrant the Neguac RCMP executed on March 13, 2009.

On April 19, 2010, Edward Junior Dedam of Esgenoôptitj First Nation appeared in Provincial Court in Miramichi and was sentenced to 15 months in jail for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, a 15-month concurrent term for possession of cocaine and is prohibited from owning firearms for 10 years. Mr. Dedam was also given a $300 fine for unauthorized possession of a firearm.

This sentence is in connection with a search warrant the Neguac RCMP executed on June 17, 2009.
