Calgary man Daniel McWha dies during a fatal house fire

A death in a house fire has been classified as a homicide.
 
The fire occurred on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at approximately 9:30 p.m., in the 300 block of 25 Avenue S.W.
 
The Calgary Fire Department rescued three people from the roof of the building. Another man was found in the home, unconscious.
 
The man was transported to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
 
The victim has been identified as Daniel McWha, 57, of Calgary.
 
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the man died from fire-related injuries.
 
The death has been determined to be a homicide, based on the autopsy and examination of the scene.
 
The investigation by the CPS Homicide Unit with the Arson Unit and the Calgary Fire Department determined that the fire was deliberately set inside the residence, however, specifics on how the fire was set are not being released.
