Mitchell Somerville, age 17, of Burningham Crescent in Ajax was last seen yesterday in the areas of Church Street and Highway 2 in Ajax, as well as Taunton Road and Anderson Street in Whitby. He may also have been in the area of Oklahoma Drive and Breezy Drive in Pickering yesterday.

He is described as a male, white, 6'2” tall, about 187 lbs, with brown hair, blue eyes, athletic build, no known scars or tattoos. He was last seen wearing blue or black athletic shorts, a gold chain and a dark T-shirt. A recent photo is attached.

He has gone missing before, but not for such an extended period.

Update: The body of a teenaged male was found today in Frenchman’s Bay on Lake Ontario. It is believed to be that of an Ajax male who has been missing since Sept. 21st, 2012.

Members of the DRPS Public Order Unit, the DRPS Marine Unit and members of OVERT were searching the shoreline most of the day and discovered the body, which has now been sent to the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto to confirm identification and cause of death.
