Jason Kenney, the Immigration Minister of Canada, has already disclosed publicly that he is going to vote in favour of the controversial motion regarding the reopening of the abortion debate in Canada. The high-status cabinet minister outlined on Monday that he will unambiguously vote in favour of the motion despite the fact that his own boss Stephen Harper has promised to vote against it.

Kenny stated that “I have said I will vote in favour of the motion and I respect all the point of views of all the ministers and all the MPs.” He also mentioned that “I think we can have a respectful debate on this question and, like I said, the big tradition of all parties in government is to allow a free vote on questions of conscience.” MPs are schedule to vote on Motion 312 on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper and many other Conservatives have in contrast declared to decline any such notion. They are even criticizing a Tory MP’s action to make Parliament re-examine the legal definition of precisely when a fetus becomes a human being.

This motion was listed by Conservative Stephen Woodworth as he requested the Parliament to reconsider its clarity on the matter of whether when exactly a fetus does become a human being. Advocators of the argument are putting up a case on the verdict that this matter was never completely clarified by the courts. They further imply that the current definition of the matter is entirely outdated and that their concern is just to bring motion to light and conduct a study, results of which can be in any direction.
