Members of the Ontario Provincial Police, Greenstone Detachment, have concluded a search for a second suspect, wanted in relation to a Forcible Confinement and Sexual Assault investigation in Upper Chelsea, Nova Scotia.

Assisted by members of several OPP specialty units and local law enforcement partners, Greenstone Detachment OPP members located the body of a white male, approximately 30-years-old, in the vicinity of the 2003 Hyundai Elantra that was recovered on October 3rd in the area of Long Lac. Last evening at approximately 7:30 p.m. CDT the body was discovered during a ground search by members of the OPP North West Region Emergency Response Team.

While the body has not been positively identified, police believe it is that of 31 year-old Wayne Alan Cunningham of Nova Scotia. The cause of death is under investigation by the Coroner’s Office and the OPP Forensic Identification Unit. Details of an autopsy are not yet confirmed; however, foul play is not suspected.
