Roger Plourde, 41 of Bowmanville charged with sexual assault

On Saturday, November 1, 2008, the TPS started an investigation into a sexual assault that occurred during the early morning hours, on O’Connor Drive, west of Woodbine Avenue.

It is alleged that:

– the victim was waiting for a bus on O’Connor Drive,
– the suspect approached the victim, grabbed her and dragged her to the ground,
– the suspect sexually assaulted the victim,
– the suspect grabbed the victim’s purse and fled into a nearby ravine.

On Monday, May 10, 2010, Roger Plourde, 41, of Bowmanville, was arrested by the Durham Regional Police Service and taken to 54 Division in Toronto.

He has been charged with:
– sexual assault
– robbery
– threatening death

He is scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 10 a.m.
