Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau are appealing for witnesses, after a serious collision claimed the life of two elderly Mississauga residents.

On Thursday, May 13, 2010, at approximately 3:40 p.m., a 17 year-old male was driving a dark-coloured sports car northbound on Dixie Road, near South Service Road. For reasons that are still under investigation, this vehicle travelled into the opposing lanes, where it was struck by a southbound Volvo.

The driver of the Volvo, 73 year-old Eduardo PASCOAL, died at the scene. His 74 year-old wife, Fenandina PASCOAL, was transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

The 17 year-old driver was also taken to a local hospital, with non life-threatening injuries, and was treated and released into police custody. He is scheduled to make a court appearance, in Brampton, on Friday, May 14, 2010, where he will be charged with two (2) counts of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who witnessed the events leading up to the collision to come forward to provide their information.
