A 63-year-old man charged with two counts of first degree murder in the 1995 killings of a mother and her 12-year-old son will make his first court appearance in connection with the charges on May 17, 2010.

On April 19, 2010, Raymond Joseph White was charged in the deaths of Mary Lou Barnes and Larry Mills Jr. On November 6, 1995, the bodies of Barnes and Larry Jr. were discovered in their home in British Settlement near Sackville, N.B. Before being transported to New Brunswick, White was serving a prison sentence in British Columbia on other criminal matters.

White is scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on Monday May 17 at 9:30 a.m.
