Sandra Pupatello, the Windsor-West MPP and a former cabinet minister, confessed to a media organization that she is in fact “leaning towards” the option of nominating herself as a potential party leader candidate of Ontario Liberal Party.

Pupatello had quit politics since 2011 in order to follow her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers as the director of business and global markets. She asserted that she is having thoughts to resign from her company, which she defined to be “very supportive.” Pupatello mentioned that “clearly I’m leaning that way, and I’m feeling good about that, but there are still variables for me.” She stated that “I get that fire going all over again and I think how can I not do this.”

Pupatello explained that she intends to discuss it with her husband on weekend and figure out the consequences if she becomes the premier of Ontario. However, she also shared at the same time that her husband has told her to “do this thing” and resume her political career.

Pupatello claims to be thankful to hear that Finance Minister, Dwight Duncan, will not be running for Liberal leadership, as she asserted that “the folks that have always supported us have supported both us.” She mentioned that “It’s been Dwight and Sandra, not Dwight versus Sandra. There’s quite a bit of unsettled feeling if that were to happen.” She have put forward the main reason of her return to revitalize the province’s economy, she pointed out that the opposing parties “are not talking about the economy and it’s all that matters right now.”
