On May 23, 2010 at approximately 2:20 am the Bathurst RCMP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Route 134 in Allardville.

The vehicle driver lost control of his car and struck a hydro pole. A 24-year-old man from Rocheville was a passenger in the car and died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The driver and another passenger were taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

An RCMP collision re-constructionist was on scene investigating the collision. Excessive speed is being considered as a contributing factor, however; alcohol has been ruled out as a cause of the collision.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation. The name of the victim is not being released at this time.
