The RCMP in Belledune is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Benoit LeBouthillier, a man wanted in connection with an assault causing bodily harm of a boy in the summer of 2011.

Benoit LeBouthillier, a 34-year-old man from Bas-Caraquet, is accused of assault causing bodily harm on a two-year-old boy and making death threats against the child’s mother. The incidents occurred on two occasions, once on July 31, 2011 and once on August 31, 2011 in the Belledune area.

He appeared in Provincial Court on September 1, 2011 and entered a plea of not guilty. A trial date was scheduled for January 3, 2012 but he failed to appear in court to stand trial. The Provincial Court issued a warrant for his arrest. Attempts to locate him have been unsuccessful.
