William David White, a 32-year-old St. Stephen resident appeared in St. Andrews Provincial Court today and was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Mary Claire Scott, a 59-year-old woman from St. Stephen. He will only be eligible for parole after serving 20 years. He is also prohibited for life of owning or possessing firearms and ammunition.
On April 22, 2010 White pled guilty to a charge of second degree murder for the death of Mary Claire Scott. The victim’s body was found in her home on Queen Street in St. Stephen on November 30, 2009.
