Edgar Quidayan, Roger Ali and Daniel Rodriguez-Martinez charged for Victoria Day shooting

On Monday, May 24, 2010, at 10:50 p.m., police received a call for a shooting in the Jane Street/Sheppard Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

– a group of people were setting off fireworks at one another,

– a man began to fire a handgun into the crowd,

– a group was seen fleeing the area in a vehicle,

– a vehicle stop was conducted a short distance away,

– two firearms were recovered.

1) Edgar Quidayan, 27, of Toronto, is charged with:
– Unauthorized possession of a firearm
– Careless storage of a firearm
– Careless storage of ammunition
– Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition
– Unauthorized presence of a firearm in a motor vehicle
– Weapons Dangerous
– Carry concealed weapon

2) Roger Ali, 20, of Toronto, is charged with:
– Unauthorized possession of a firearm
– Careless storage of a firearm
– Careless storage of ammunition
– Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition
– Unauthorized presence of a firearm in a motor vehicle
– Possess firearm knowing that serial number has been removed
– Weapons Dangerous ,
– Carry concealed weapon
– Possession of firearm obtained by the commission of an offence
– Discharge firearm endanger life
– Mischief endangering life
– Careless use of a firearm

3) Daniel Rodriguez-Martinez, 18, of Toronto, is charged with:
– Unauthorized possession of a firearm
– Careless storage of a firearm
– Careless storage of ammunition
– Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition
– Unauthorized presence of a firearm in a motor vehicle
– Possess firearm knowing that serial number has been removed
– Weapons Dangerous ,
– Carry concealed weapon
– Possession of firearm obtained by the commission of an offence

They were scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at 10 a.m.

A 17-year-old girl, of Toronto, was charged with:
– Unauthorized possession of a firearm
– Careless storage of a firearm
– Careless use of ammunition
– Unauthorized presence of a firearm in a motor vehicle
– Possess firearm knowing the serial number has been removed
– Weapons Dangerous
– Carry Concealed Weapon

Her name cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. She was scheduled to appear at Toronto West Courts on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at 10 a.m.
