Three robbers impersonating as police officers in Toronto

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a robbery investigation involving three men impersonating police officers.

It is reported that:

– on Sunday, May 30, 2010, between 12:30 a.m. and 5 a.m., in two separate cases, men responded to ads on the internet for female companionship in the Bathurst Street/Finch Avenue West area,

– once the men arrived, they were approached by three men who identified themselves as police officers,

– the suspects then handcuffed the victim,

– the suspects robbed the victim of his money.

The suspects are described as white, 25-35.

Police would like to remind the public that, when approached by officers not wearing uniforms, request photo identification accompanied by a badge.
