It is reported that:
– since May 2010, police have been investigating three separate food tampering cases involving Piller’s Polish Sausage,
– customers, after purchasing the item, located a needle embedded in a sausage,
– two packages were purchased at the No Frills store at 372 Pacific Avenue and one at 2187 Bloor Street West.
The public is requested to check the packaging of all food products thoroughly for signs of tampering.
If you have reason to suspect that a meat product has been tampered with, you are requested to retain the product, packaging and any receipt. You are also requested to contact your local police or the Canadian Food Inspection Agency at 416-665-5049.
