Hamilton man Mark Hermz dies in a serious traffic fatality

Hamilton Police responded to the area of Old Guelph Rd at Patterson Avenue in Hamilton, former Town of Dundas to investigate a serious single motor vehicle collision.

While on route, Hamilton Police were advised a male was underneath a motor vehicle and he had severe injuries. Hamilton Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services also attended. The vehicle was lifted and the male was removed from underneath the vehicle. The male was unresponsive and CPR was administered, however it was unsuccessful. A local Coroner attended and confirmed death.

The victim is identified as Mark Hermz 26 yrs. of Hamilton.

Hamilton Police Reconstructive Unit; in support by Divisional Detectives have attended to assist with the investigation. Several people have come forward and have been interviewed regarding this incident. Any additional witnesses, not already interviewed regarding this incident, are asked to contact the Hamilton Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit.

No charges have been laid.  The Homicide Unit is no longer involved with the investigation.
