The 12-year-old Dorval boy under investigation for allegedly shooting his own 16-year-old brother in home by a family gun in an accident is scheduled to appear in Youth Court at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. There is no detail of any charges laid on the 12-year-old, though investigators have found that the shooting “seems to have been accidental.”

Constable Simon Delorme mentioned on Tuesday morning that the boy might be facing charges of weapons offence or involuntary homicide. The investigators were interrogating the suspect throughout the night till almost 5:30 a.m., during the time of interrogation, the preteen “was accompanied by a parent, as is the right of a juvenile under the law.” Delorme stated “that made it a little more complicated.” The situation was growingly became even more awkward as the person with parental authority for the 12-year-old was his mother, whose older son had died by the hands of her preteen. Delorme alleged that “this is a very sad story,” while sharing that the mother previously took her son to the nearby hospital for shock treatment.

It has been confirmed that the deceased 16-year-old was struck by “at least one bullet to the upper body.” Even though the Police has established whether the handgun used was registered or not, but Delorme claims that “we are keeping that information at our level for the time being … because other persons still have to be met and questioned in relation to the firearm.” He described the death weapon as “a family handgun.”
