Latest reports confirm that police has successfully identified the woman whose torso was discovered on Saturday, from an outsized garbage bin behind an apartment building in the north end of Kitchener, Ont. Police has released a press statement on Tuesday, informing that the victim is identified as a 24-year-old Kelsey Louise Felker.

The police has not issued an image of the victim or confirmed if any other body parts are discovered or not. There is no news of any arrest related to the crime. Insp. Kevin Thaler informed media that “this is a tragedy for the community, for the family especially and the efforts will continue, of course, to recover her body and provide some measure of closure for the family.” It was disclosed that the torso was found with a black T-shirt with the words printed on the front, which said “Forget princess, I want to be a vampire”.

The public affairs coordinator of Waterloo Regional Police, Olaf Heinzel, has alleged that public information regarding the T-shirt potentially helped during a critical stage of identifying the victim. Heinzel suspects that neither did Felker lived in the building behind which the torso was found, nor was she reported missing by anyone. Furthermore, Heinzel added that the body is currently undergoing an autopsy at a hospital in Hamilton, which will help determine the victim’s cause-of-death. Reports confirm that a police command post has been present at 250 Frederick St., where and since the torso was found.
