Train derailment temporarily closes Highway 2A near Red Deer

Motorists are advised that Highway 2A south of Red Deer will be closed indefinitely due to a train derailment.

The derailment occurred at 6:45 a.m. on June 8 and affects the highway between Mackenzie Road and Lantern Street south of Red Deer.

Motorists are asked to use alternate routes until the highway can be reopened. A further advisory will be issued when the highway reopens.
